May-September
This cruise will show you picturesque fjords, rocky mountains, spectacular waterfalls, and the old town of Bruges from the water. After leaving Bergen, the ship sails under the Nordhordaland and enters the Osterfjord. As you approach Mostraumen, the fjord becomes narrower and narrower, and suddenly you are surrounded by steep mountains. You will sail close to several waterfalls. There is a lot of fauna in the area: seals, goats and eagles often meet tourists!
The ship is modern and spacious, with a great observation deck.
Bergen is a fascinating historical city, nestled in beautiful surroundings. The second-largest city in Norway, it retains its small-town charm and welcoming atmosphere. It's a cultural hub, with outstanding museums, galleries, historical areas and special events. It also has a modern and youthful vibe, thanks to the fact that students make up about 10% of the local population.
Bergen used to be the largest city in the Nordic countries and the capital of Norway throughout some of the country’s most influential periods.
When it comes to things to do in Bergen, it’s not all about urban attractions. Natural escapes are just minutes away. The port at the heart of Bergen is the gateway to the amazing fjords which make up the Norwegian coastline, and the city itself is ringed by 7 mountains, several of which are very easily reached and climbed.
Traveling on the Flom Panoramic Railway is one of the most beautiful trips in the world and is one of Norway's leading tourist attractions. The train runs from the high mountains at Murdal station to the end of the Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the Sogne Fjord. The journey offers stunning views of Western Norway.
Get to know the exciting stories behind building the Flåm Railway, the world's steepest railway, with a visit to Flåm Railway Museum. The museum gives you insights into the hardworking people who built this masterpiece, as well as the many technical and legal challenges of building it.
The impressive engineering includes exciting stories about hard-working people and technical challenges, as well as the rural culture in Flåm and nearby areas. You can visualise the history through an extensive collection of pictures, videos and artifacts. Amongst the items exhibited are an authentic El 9 locomotive, an old electric shunting engine and rail-inspection trolleys.
