  • Stavanger
Stavanger is an interesting and diverse city. It holds the title of the richest city in Norway and is nicknamed "White". It is home to the offices of major oil companies. And here you can also see the most beautiful fjord in the country. All the houses in the Old Town are wooden. They are painted yellow and white. There is only one street that breaks out of this range - Kolorova Street. This is done because Norway rarely has sunny days. This touch creates a completely unique, festive flavor and makes Stavanger even more recognizable. Of course, there are also modern buildings here - a fish market, hotels, cafes and restaurants. But still, the narrow streets in the city center with a long history are something special. Most tourists come here to see them. In addition, of course, to the stunning beauty of the bays and cliffs.

It’s a perfect spot for walking, relaxing, kite surfing, or simply enjoying the coastal beauty. On sunny summer days, locals and tourists alike gather here to experience the charm of the Scandinavian seaside.
One of the unique features of this beach is its proximity to Stavanger Airport, making it a popular location for plane spotting enthusiasts. • Sverd i Fjell
Sverd i Fjell, or "Swords in Rock," is a unique monument near Stavanger that symbolizes unity and peace in Norway. Three massive metal swords stand on the shore of the picturesque Hafrsfjord. This monument was erected in 1983 to commemorate the Battle of Hafrsfjord in 872, where King Harald Fairhair united Norway into one kingdom.
Each sword has its meaning: the largest represents victory, while the two smaller ones symbolize unity under one rule. Its location by the fjord adds to the site's special atmosphere, making it a favorite among tourists. It's a great spot not only for exploring history but also for enjoying the views and capturing unforgettable photos.

  • Preikestulen or Pulpit Rock
    Difficulty level: Moderate
Preikestolen, or Pulpit Rock, is one of Norway's most outstanding natural monuments. It is a rocky ledge hundreds of meters high, which offers a breathtaking view of the fjord.

The ascent to Preikestulen starts from the hostel. The path is 3.8 kilometers one way. A traveler in good physical shape will conquer the route in an hour, while others will have to expect a two-hour climb. The descent is somewhat faster, but there will be more impact on the knees.

The route is well marked, so there is no risk of getting lost. At the beginning the ascent is steep and you should be prepared for an exhausting stony path. But the further up, the road becomes easier.

In good weather, the traffic can be like a car on the highway. Children can manage climbing on Preikestolen, but babies have to be carried and constantly looked after at the top, so the hike is barely suitable for the youngest members of the family.
